Trekking Module: Markha, Ladakh, India

Introduction

Our trekking through the Markha Valley in Ladakh leads along the Indus River, through isolated hamlets and remote villages and the barren mountain landscapes, which are characteristic for Ladakh. You walk through contrasting mountain landscapes at the foot of the Stok Khangri (6100 m) and the Kang Yatse (6400 m), and enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas and insights into the Buddhist cultural heritage of Ladakh.

Trekking Itinerary

Day 1 : Journey to Leh. Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Leh.

Options - Flight Delhi - Leh, in connection to travel module "Delhi"

    -  We integrate for you the Markha trekking with a trip of your choice to Himachal Pradesh / Spiti or              Kashmir.
     - We round off the Markha trekking with additional trips in Ladakh, for example to Lake Tsomoriri or            to the Nubra Valley.

Day 2 : Day of rest in Leh for acclimatization

Day 3 - 8 : 4 - 7 hours of trekking per day through breathtaking scenery and remote villages.

Day 9 : Last trekking section and finally visit to the Hemis monastery. Afterwards drive back to Leh.

Day 10 + : 

Options - Return flight from Leh to Delhi. From Delhi continue with a Travel Module of your choice.

   - Integrate the visit of further places in Ladakh
   - Combine this Trekking Module with the summit ascent of Mt. Stok Khangri
